Bakkavor’s rising stars raise over £4,000 for The Prince’s Countryside Fund

Rising graduate stars from the Accelerated Management Scheme (AMS) at Bakkavor, the UK’S leading fresh prepared food manufacturer, have raised over £2,000 for The Prince's Countryside Fund one of its chosen charities for 2016.
Since April, the graduates have been competing as two teams (first and second years) to raise as much money as they can.
The first years have been crowned the winners following their sponsored bicycle ride which involved cycling for 61 miles with stop-off points at Bakkavor’s sites in Lincolnshire, starting at Old Leake Community Centre in Boston and running through Cucino Sano, Freshcook, Pizza Holbeach and Bourne Prepared Produce before ending at Bakkavor’s Spalding site.
The seven AMS cyclists Ollie Burton, Lorna Goldsmith, Dan Thorne, Suzy Adams, Amelia Jones, Ruichen Yang and Emily Bird completed the bicycle ride in just over nine hours, managing to raise an impressive £2,205 for Fund, which was later matched by Bakkavor to total a donation of £4,410.
Jenny Parry, Group Head of Talent at Bakkavor commented: “It was a long, tough ride for our Graduates but we are delighted they have raised such a significant amount of money for a worthwhile cause. This achievement is a huge credit to everyone who participated and completed the ride, and we want to thank Bakkavor’s Management Board for supporting them and matching their efforts to bring the total to £4,410.

The Fund has been able to distribute over £7 million in grants and emergency funding which has benefitted nearly 14 million people who live and work in rural areas. Through the efforts of individuals and groups like the graduate cycling team, we’re able to continue to support a whole range of diverse rural projects across the UK and try and secure a brighter future for the countryside.”
