Attending the ASAO Conference

November 6, 2023

Last week, Keith Halstead, Executive Director for the RCF and Tessa Berridge, Senior Programmes Manager for the RCF attended the The Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO) conference to meet those who run agricultural shows up, down and across the UK.

The ASAO represents the UK’s many agricultural, horticultural, equine and countryside events. Run by ‘Show’ people, with years of experience in the field, its members benefit from unrivalled advice on everything from legislation, health and safety, operations, marketing and best practice.

Attending the conference was a fantastic way for us to connect people to the countryside know more about what we do at the RCF to support farming families and rural communities.

The event offered us insight which can support our Farm for the Future programme which is running across England to support farmers through the agricultural transition.

It was great to see Anna Jones, from Just Farmers speak at the conference about media relations – we have previous supported the organisation through our rural communities grant programme.

We want to thank the ASAO for allowing us to attend – it was a valuable couple of days and as always wonderful to meet everyone who is working to ensure that these brilliant events are available for farmers to showcase their hard work.
