A royal garden party for rural community contributors

May 18, 2024

We were delighted to recently nominate some of our beneficiaries to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the terrific contributions they've made to their communities.

The Royal Countryside Fund nominated representatives from Farm Support Groups—Exmoor Hill Farming Network, The Farming Life Centre and Upper Teesdale Agricultural Support Services—as well as rural community organisations, North Norfolk Community Transport and Hour Community, who were among 8,000 guests who spent the afternoon in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

Garden parties were established to allow the Royal Family to meet a broad range of people from all walks of life, who have made a positive impact in their community and celebrating their achievements.

Katherine Williams, Network Manager at the Exmoor Hill Farming Network said: “I feel very privileged to be part of the Exmoor Hill Farming Network and I am so passionate about the work that we deliver and seeing the difference it makes to many of our farming businesses. It was a huge honour to attend the Royal Garden Party acknowledging my contribution to the network. I will cherish the memory for many years to come.”
