Andrew Phillips LVO joins our board of trustees

November 4, 2025

The Royal Countryside Fund (RCF) has announced the new appointment of Andrew Phillips LVO to its board of trustees and as Chair of their Finance & Resources Committee.

As the charity continues to expand its support for farming families and rural communities, this new appointment will help ensure the RCF is well positioned to continue the vision of its Royal Founding Patron, HM King Charles III, providing practical support and empowering people who live and work across Britain’s countryside.

A chartered accountant by profession, Andrew is Finance Director and Deputy Keeper of the Records at the Duchy of Cornwall, where he leads the Finance, Insight and Technology team. After working in practice and industry, he joined the Duchy of Cornwall in 1998 and has built a varied career immersed in this historic landed estate, including being a director of J V Energen, the Duchy’s pioneering biogas plant that became the UK’s first commercial-scale biomethane grid injection facility.

A few years ago, Andrew studied for a Masters in Sustainability at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership. His research projects focussed on ways to maximise the uptake of sustainability initiatives in the let land sector, and on the issue of modern slavery in UK agriculture.

On his appointment as an RCF trustee, Andrew said: “I’m excited and honoured to be joining the board at this crucial time of change for the farming sector and rural communities. A just and successful transition is essential. I look forward to learning from the RCF and those it supports, and I hope my experience and insight will help.

The RCF’s Chair, Heather Hancock LVO DL, said: “I am delighted to welcome Andrew to our board of trustees. His experience in finance, sustainability and rural innovation will be of immense value to our ambitions to strengthen and extend the vital support we offer to Britain’s farming families and rural communities.”
