The RCF joins supporters at the Northumberland County Show
The RCF team attended the Northumberland County Show over the May bank holiday weekend. The show was a fantastic opportunity to speak with local family farmers, rural community organisers, and people from all over the county.
Once again, the RCF team were kindly welcomed by the charity’s longstanding Northumberland-based partner, Barbour. The team from Barbour ran a popular jacket re-waxing and repair stand, raising close to £1,000 in donations for the RCF.
Thank you to Barbour for their continued support.
Beth Gilderoy, Global Marketing Manager, Barbour said:
“We are delighted to be back at the Northumberland County Show and to continue our partnership with the RCF, a charity we have supported for over 10 years.”
Keith Halstead, Executive Director, The Royal Countryside Fund said:
“It’s always a great pleasure to attend the Northumberland County Show and partner with Barbour on this re-waxing initiative. It’s a great opportunity to meet with Northumberland’s farming families, local groups, and rural people who care deeply about the future of the countryside. We’re very grateful for Barbour’s longstanding support and commitment to rural life, which enables us to deliver on our charitable purpose.”

Later in the day, the RCF held a well-attended afternoon tea event, bringing together the charity’s partners and funders with Northumberland farmers and community organisers.
The event provided an important forum to discuss the needs of Northumberland’s rural communities and how they can best be supported. Local organisers met to network, and provide their input into the RCF’s plans in Northumberland.
Attendees included representatives from The National Lottery Community Fund, The National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE), Community Action Northumberland, The Rural Design Centre and Lesbury Community Shop.
