All at The Royal Countryside Fund are deeply saddened by the death of trustee, The Earl of Lindsay.  Jamie Lindsay was a valued member of our board for eight years, admired for his profound care for the countryside and its people, and loved for his conviviality. 

As a trustee, Jamie was incredibly committed to the work we do. He brought great experience and judgement in supporting the needs of farmers and rural communities, caring especially about championing his homeland of Scotland.

He will be greatly missed by his fellow Trustees, our staff, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our Chair, Heather Hancock, shared “Jamie was determined and energetic when it came to making life better for farmers and rural communities across the UK, and his kindness and courtesy always shone through. He is such a loss to many people and causes, ours included. The thoughts of everyone at the RCF are with his widow Diana and his family”.
