Our Royal Founding Patron hosts Food and Farming Summit at Dumfries House
Our Chief Executive, Keith Halstead, was delighted to
join the Food & Farming Summit at Dumfries House last week convened by The
King’s Foundation, the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance and the Sustainable
Food Trust at which we were joined by our Royal Founding Patron, His
Majesty The King.
Farmers, charities, food businesses and policymakers all came together for a series of workshops which encouraged participants to think holistically about regenerative food systems challenges, including building evidence of best practice, sharing financial risk across the value chain, and the role of place-based, regional interventions for building transparent, connected supply chains.
The RCF is particularly interested in the gap in knowledge and advice for farmers on how to farm regeneratively, so in turning ambition into action at the Summit we offered to convene a meeting of charities and others to better understand how we are all supporting those farmers on their regen journey and to map what is happening across the UK.
It was encouraging to see several of our partners at the Summit, including McDonalds UK & Ireland, Waitrose & Partners, The King Charles III Charitable Fund, Regenified, and one of the RCF’s ambassadors, Jimmy Doherty.
